Midwinter campout at Koyote. Attending were Mike & Prisicilla Lee, John & Wanda Osborn, Billy & Tim Laue, & Jim Dumas. Weather was great for riding. Tom Sprague & Steven Thomas rode in for a short visit Sat PM, but did not camp. Thurs nite started with grilled hamburgers with Billy & Tim. On Fri, we rode to Bandera for late breakfast/lunch. Friday nite was catfish dinner. Osborns arrived after dark Fri nite. We rode to Two Fat Boys BBQ in Camp Wood on Sat for BBQ & pie. Later on Sat, we all pitched in to make evening meal in the rec building, with steaks and shrimp & all the trimmings. Osborns departed on Sun for home. Laue's & Jim Dumas rode to Kerrville to check out other campgrounds in the area. Some were very nice, but we agreed that none beat Koyote. Lee's departed Monday for home. Local musicians and pot luck were enjoyed at noon. Some showers Monday evening. Tues dawned sunny & warm, Laue's & Jim rode to Bandera to see a trike and trailer place, plus lunch at OST. Sadly, Tim & I returned home Wed after a great 6 days at Koyote.

Mid Winter Round up was held at the New Braunfels convention center. The facility was really great and the District provided chop BBQ for lunch. Tom was able to advertize the Bluebonnet rally and received a number of comments from fellow chapters that they plan to attend. We introduced our new Couple of the Year (Lyle and Sheri) and our Chapter educator received awards for best Rider Educator Article of the year as well as recognized as the Chapter Educator of the year. Congratulations to Randy. Fun was had by everyone as well as some very interesting seminars. Basically there was a lot of information to share with everyone back in our Chapter gatherings.

Saturday was just too good to pass up a ride. The temp at 1030 was in the upper 50's. Just perfect for riding. We reviewed our options and decided to head to Luckenbach to listen to Tommy Lee Jones. A quick stop there and we headed to Alamo Springs for a great burger. Can you imagine a little restaurant in the middle of nowhere and it was packed. I guess the reputation for one of the best burgers in Texas holds a lot of weight. It took us some time to get served and put us a little behind for heading to Hye. So we headed to Fredericksburg and back to Johnson City via the northern route. We arrived in Johnson City and took advantage of he Dairy Queen for a break. Then back to Austin via Robinson Road that turns into Fitzhugh Rd. The day was perfect for riding. Just cool enough to put on all the safety gear and stay warm. If you missed this day you missed a great ride with all the trimmings.

This year the first was on Sunday. John O lead a group from north Austin and arrived at the Oak Hill Y around 1240. We had a little meeting and safety talk and headed to eat BBQ in New Braunfels. The chapter treated everyone to their first BBQ of the season. We had 18 people take the ride to Coopers on a gorgeous sunny day. After lunch most of the group headed up the River road to enjoy the scenery and back through Dripping Springs. At that point most of the group broke up and headed to their final destination. Late in the afternoon the sun started to set and the temperature started to cool down. Most folks were home by that time. Another great riding day in the mid of winter.

This years Christmas party was at Threadgill's. The food and service was great. Tom had a number of Minute to Win it games to keep things rolling. Seeing Randy trying to shake Xmas Balls out of a box was worth the price of admission. The Gift exchange, as always, was a lot of fun. Thanks to Jim D for opening all the gifts for people to take from him. A total of 40 chapter O folks enjoyed the fun and the Minute to Win it games.
