Highlight for album: Donation to Salvation Army (6 Feb 2010)
Donation to Salvation Army (6 Feb 2010)
On Saturday AM a group of Chapter O folks met at the Austin Salvation Army HQ on East 8th St. Over the past year our members collected personal care products from the hotels we stay in. We collect this and donate them to a worthy cause, like the Salvation Army. At this time of the year the Salvation Army opens it doors for less fortunate people to escape the cold Texas weather. When these folks end up at the shelters they can clean up with the items we have donated. Great for the community and it sure makes you feel good inside to help out the little you can.

Highlight for album: Retired Guys - Ride to Alamo CyclePlex
Retired Guys - Ride to Alamo CyclePlex
Wednesday 1-26 five mature, experienced, wordly ... heck were are just "OLD" ... guys rode to San Antonio to pick up the silent auction goodies that the dealer donated for the Bluebonnet Rally. There was Richard Seay (leader), John Conniff, Billy Laue, John Osborn and Tom Sprague. We were KSU @ 9:00am, stopped for breakfast at the Blanco Bowling Alley Cafe and were riding more backroads to S.A. by 10:30am. We went through Kendalia, Bergheim and Fair Oaks and came into S.A on IH-10 from the West. The Parts and Accessories Mgr. Tom Podlawsky met us and loaded us up with goodies (see photos). We got two riding jackets (man & woman), 6 bottles of bike wash, a soft-sided cooler, 2 Adventure Motorcycle Maps, 2 face shield bags and a model GL1800. We felt like bandits! On the way home we rode Bulverde Rd. to Smithson Valley Rd, then around Canyon Lake and of course had lunch in Wimberely and attempted to solve the world problems over coffee and sandwiches. We were back to Richard's house by 3:30pm where we unladed the bounty to take photos. Another successful haul!!!

Highlight for album: Mid-Winter Roundup 1-9-2010
Mid-Winter Roundup 1-9-2010
Mid-Winter Roundup brought us below freezing temperatures, lots of information for the coming year, new CD's, new Couples of the Year, and a few suprises. Look at the picture gallery to find out what went on at the Killeen Civic Center on January 9th, 2010. We all had fun and according to several attendees--we learned things we did not previously know.

Highlight for album: January 1, 2010 Polar Bear Ride
January 1, 2010 Polar Bear Ride
Chapter O has a tradition of going on a ride January 1 every year. We call it the Polar Bear Ride because some years you have to be a real polar bear to be able to tolerate the weather. We started out at the 290 Cafe this year and the temp was in the mid 30's. We rode over to pick up the rest of the group at 973 and 71 at the Exxon. Charlie & Julie Diggs had battery problems and decided not to take a chance, so they headed back to town. Tom & Dawn were in a cage also because of battery problems. Robby & Tricia had Fuel Injection problems and had to do the four wheel thing too. We rode back roads for about an hour with approximately 30 bikes and close to 60 people by the time we arrived for lunch in Winchester. Thanks to Ray & Debbie Hyatt for the suggestion. The food was great and the service was pretty good for a steak house out in the boonies! A large group of bikes left the steak house and went through the state parks before heading home.
